The Journey of Coffee Plant: From Seed to Cup

3. Harvesting the Berries

After the berries are harvested, they are sorted to remove any defective ones. Then, they undergo a process called wet processing, where the outer layers of the berry are removed to reveal the beans inside. The beans are then dried and either stored or sent off for further processing.

4. Roasting the Beans

After the beans are processed and sorted, they are ready to be roasted. Roasting is an art form that requires precision and skill. The roasting process involves heating the beans at high temperatures until they reach their desired roast level.

Roast levels can vary from light to dark, and each level brings out different flavors and aromas. Light roasts tend to have a mild flavor and a higher acidity, while dark roasts have a bolder flavor and a lower acidity.
